Congratulations Erin Howard for earning the Whiteley Faculty Scholar Award as part of the College of Science Mentoring Community. The award supports excellent teaching and learning innovation that advances Oregon State University’s retention and completion goals and was established through Ben Whiteley's estate to support great teachers who are advancing teaching. Howard also received the Center for Teaching and Learning Professional Development Award.
She was further recognized with a Best Speed Session Award by the Statistical Education Section for JSM 2024 for “Enhancing Engagement in Introductory Statistics through Student-Centered Simulations.” JSM Speed Session awards are given to presenters who describe their contribution clearly and succinctly, both orally and in an e-poster.
