Yanming Di and Collaborators Receive Research Grants from Multiple Funding Sources

Congratulations to Professor and Co-director of Graduate studies, Yanming Di and collaborators Dan Curry, Fuxin Li and Jing Zhou, from the College of Agricultural Sciences and the College of Engineering for receiving multiple research grants from the Oregon Department of Agriculture and the Oregon Grass Seed Commissions. Yanming and his team received this funding to develop an automated grass seed analyzer. Their team leverages recent advancements in computer vision, AI, and robotics for a transformative research initiative in grass seed analysis. The transdisciplinary team has developed automated systems that overcome key engineering challenges, integrating image-capturing and neural network technologies for highly precise grass seed recognition and classification. This cutting-edge technology aligns with OSU's mission of driving innovative solutions to address critical needs in the agricultural sector.
